Readers interested in primitive archery or in recreating the material culture of American Indians will appreciate this new book by Steve Alley and Jim Hamm. Steve and Jim have compiled an impressive display of original Indian archery equipment gleaned from private and museum collections around the world. Each object is rendered as a pen-and-ink sketch and includes dimensions, cross-sectional views, colors, construction details and a short description of the materials used in making the object. Over a hundred bows, scores of arrows and more than a dozen quivers from over thirty tribes are featured.

Native American Bows, Arrows & Quivers is a testament to the authors’ interest in native Americans and archery. Both Alley and Hamm are accomplished bow makers who have shared their interest and knowledge of traditional archery through books, interpretive displays, seminars and educational programs across the country.
