ACCOUTERMENTS II

For those who like to see original artifacts from early America,
Accouterments II is fine book that is in the "must have" category. Jim Johnston
of Golden Age Arms has produced another beautiful book full of "golden age"
artifacts from the 18th and 19th centuries. Each page is a virtual feast of rifles,
pistols, horns, knives, tomahawks, hunting pouches and various accouterments from frontier
America.
Over 600 quality black and white photographs graphically illustrate
these artifacts, most of which have never been published. This is another great resource
for those who recreate the material culture of the frontier. The photographs are
accompanied by short descriptions that in most cases include the critical dimensions.
According to Johnston quality and variety were the guidelines in
assembling material for this book. There's no doubt that the artifacts pictured in
Accouterments II meet those criteria. The main question is when will Johnston publish the
next book of more accouterments?
